Faculty Council Steering Committee

August 28,2002

Members Present: Paul Baxter, Lisa Bogaty, Rick Bower, Gay Bryant, Sharon Burlingame, Kathy Byrd, George Cox, Rasey Feezell, Cathalin Folks, Marilyn Hosker, Mae Jean King, Anita Maddox, Harold Rowland, Chuck Wright, Pat Zingg

I.The meeting was called to order by Business Officer Leon Jones at 3 p.m.

II. Lisa Bogaty moved that the minutes from the July Leadership Retreat be edited before being submitted to the Steering Committee for approval. Motion seconded and passed.

III. Officer Reports

Policy on changing e-mail passwords

Outlook e-mail system

The Steering Committee voted to invite Jerry Bryan to answer questions about the new Outlook e-mail system at the September 4 Faculty Council Meeting. David Smith will also be asked to join this session to provide information on Web Pages. Other computer issues will also be discussed. (See New Business below.)

Booksale

Humanities Department is in charge of next Faculty Council Booksale.

Faculty After Hours

Anita Maddox announced that this year's first Faculty After Hours will be Friday, September 6 @ Cozymel's, starting at 3:30 p.m. Other events will are being planned. Please e-mail Anita if you have suggestions.

List of Standing Committees

Adjunct and Rules Committees should be added.

Chuck Wright agreed to contact new adjunct faculty.
